About us

Athmos emerges from what many organizations dare to ignore: the tensions people avoid, and the human potential buried deep. Structure, strategy, and technology are necessary but not sufficient. Culture, collaboration, and systemic dynamics are crucial, yet often underleveraged. Willem and Christophe combine their strengths to bring that invisible field and untapped capital into view -and make them actionable - not as “soft skills,” but as strategic levers for decisive choices, buy-in decisions, and lasting profitability.

Founder, relational strategist with financial and systemic roots

Christophe Kempkes

With over 25 years of experience spanning consultancy, banking, and systems thinking -always with a strong focus on human development -Christophe founded Athmos to make relational potential visible and workable as a lever for sustainable growth for people and organizations.

After a career with EY and Belfius in corporate, public, and private finance, his attention moved toward how people truly collaborate inside organizations. Why do well-intended strategies stall on relational friction or collective inertia? This search led him to systems thinking, where he worked for years as researcher and facilitator. Drawing on that background, he has guided complex change trajectories in governments, enterprises, and societal alliances.

Christophe combines hands-on experience with systemic reflection. As co-author of the international book Stories of Collective Leadership in Action (2025), he ties his leadership story to collective development paths in organizations. His international education (including at the International Futures Forum and East Side Institute) underpins his dedication to deep learning and partnerships that are value-rich and future-oriented.

He focuses on what organizations often leave unspoken: the power dynamics of relationships, beliefs, and layers of meaning that can strengthen or undermine collaboration. With a critical and open stance, he helps teams speak the language of their undercurrent and take responsibility for the culture they shape together.

Christophe is married to Anneleen and the father of four sons and one daughter.

William Billiet

Willem brings keen insight into what genuinely moves organizations. As founder of Thenable, he supports SMEs in realizing sustainable growth by linking strategy with executional strength. His approach is pragmatic, yet deeply rooted in analysis, structure, and well-founded decision-making.

With years of experience in change management and digital transformation, Willem can quickly unravel complex issues and translate them into concrete programs with measurable impact. His unique “Road-to-Action” method makes it possible to give direction, define priorities precisely, and at the same time deliver what is strategically essential.

His belief is that the true strength of an organization lies not only in its structures and processes but in the undercurrent: culture, informal dynamics, the shared belief in direction and values. Working consciously with that undercurrent, he helps build organizations that are not just more efficient, but also more resilient, sustainable, and desirable to customers, employees, and stakeholders.

Willem believes in being result-driven while anchored in reality. He doesn’t observe from afar or work purely from theory. He stands beside his clients, thinks with them and acts with them. As sounding board, accelerator, and sparring partner, he challenges companies to make choices, accelerate, and simultaneously strengthen their foundations. Together with his team of experts, he builds organizations ready for tomorrow without losing sight of the realities of today.

Alongside his focus on strategy and organization, Willem has a strong passion for the possibilities of artificial intelligence. He sees AI not as hype but as a powerful catalyst to accelerate processes, improve decision-making, and unlock new forms of value. From that perspective, he helps companies deploy AI responsibly and strategically—always with an eye to people and to the undercurrent within the organization.

The most significant role of a leader is to make the invisible clearly visible.
